Dear Excellencies, Executives and Colleagues,
It is with great pleasure I extend you a warm welcome to this issue of Hart Energy Publishing’s bi-monthly FUEL magazine. You will be seeing a number of new developments this year with the dedication of more resources. We now have two
full-time employees working on FUEL:
• Monique Hitchings has been promoted from the magazine’s editor to editor-in chief. With more than 10 years of editorial experience, Monique has been an editor for several of Hart’s products during the past 8 years, with key responsibility for the company’s Custom Publishing Division during the past three years.
• Kwan Brown has been named FUEL’s sales manager. He has more than eight years of marketing experience within the automotive industry – especially E85 – for various manufacturers. Together with Kwan, Karen Chan will continue as our sales manager in the Asian and Middle Eastern regions.
With the continuously growing number of subscribers, along with advertiser interest, we are building a worldwide distribution list to make FUEL an audited magazine. In addition, we are in the process of developing our Web site, www.hartfuel.com. We at Hart are excited about these developments and hope our readers will value these changes as well.
In this issue, you will find a feature about the latest automotive development, including the new Indian Nano, Tata’s “People’s Car,” with 54 mpg. This is an interesting evolution, recalling that 62 years ago, Porsche built its people car, Volkswagen, which received 40 mpg.
FUEL continues to cover the newest developments within global environmental discussions among the worldwide high-level policy makers. This issue’s internationally focused articles are about Nippon Oil in Japan, Saudi Aramco in Saudi Arabia and Sinopec in China. We also have included an article about how China is preparing to clean up the air for the Olympics.
FUEL had an overwhelming response from the industry submitting its latest on biodiesel and renewable diesel technologies. We apologize if your company’s technology has not been included because of space limitation and the possibility that content was too commercial in nature. The feature article in this issue is about the global catalyst business – covering the question about industry’s ability to meet the new requests from stricter fuel specifications, worse quality feedstock, increased throughput and increasing demand on raw material for the catalyst.n
With warm appreciation from
